Matuto (Brazilian slang for “country boy”) embraces Brazilian forró rhythms and the folk traditions of the American South, with instruments that include accordion, guitar, bass, triangle, and zabumba, a bass drum often used in Brazilian music. This performance features new works written and performed by youth in collaboration with Matuto as part of Carnegie Hall’s Musical Connections program. FREE.
