Summer Chamber Music

INTRODUCTION TO STRING ENSEMBLE CAMP
For string students who can read music, this program will place students into groups with more than one student per part. This is designed to introduce students to the skills and experience of playing in a multi-part ensemble, while having the support of an instrumental section. In addition to daily coaching, students will participate in musicianship activities that build skills fundamental to playing chamber music (listening, sight-reading, communication, teamwork, etc.). The week culminates with a performance.

Repertoire is carefully selected to both challenge and inspire young players. Music will be assigned and distributed prior to the beginning of camp.

Dates: Monday-Friday, August 15-19 from 1-4pm at our Upper Westside location, 218 W 72nd St.

Cost: $485 (apply by June 1st and receive a 10% discount)

To apply, please fill out this form and submit a video file or YouTube link of a recent performance to silvermusic@silvermusic.org. In the email, please include your name, camp that you are applying to, and the title/composer of your piece.
