Interested in finding out more about what a class like this looks like online? Join us for a FREE demo class on Friday, April 3rd at 2pm with our viola teacher, Molly. Space is limited, please email silvermusic@silvermusic.org with your child’s name and age if you would like to attend. (An adult must be present for the duration of the class).
Please submit this RSP Interest Form if you would like to participate in an Online RSP Class this spring. This interactive class includes live music, singing, rhythm and note writing, creative movement, and pre-twinkle activities for children 2-6 years old. Classes are grouped by age and limited to 5 students.
New Online classes begin Saturday, April 18. Classes continue through Sunday, June 14. (No classes Saturday, May 2, or Memorial Day Weekend-May 23-25)

Saturday/Monday classes: $322/7 classes
Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday classes: $368/8 classes

The following information relates to our introductory classes prior to the coronavirus outbreak. All programs have since moved online as we follow regulations to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our city.
We offer 3 types of classes during the academic year at our two locations, 45 Tiemann Place (Morningside Heights) and 218 W 72nd St (UWS).
- Music Shakers: children 6 months to 2.5 years (time TBD)
- Ready Set Play: for children 2 to 6 years (grouped by age and level)
- Flute/String Readiness: for children 3 years and up to attend with a parent (enrolled by teacher recommendation)
Unless your child is younger than 2, we recommend our Ready, Set, Play! class which allows children to try all the string instruments (violin, viola, cello, guitar), flute, and piano. Children under 2 can join our Music Shakers class. Students aged 3.5+ may be recommended for a Flute/String Readiness prior to beginning lessons.
Classes are offered throughout the week in mornings and afternoons at both locations. We take care to place your child in the most appropriate class with other children of the same age and level.
Our semester begins Tuesday, January 28 through Sunday, June 14.
RSP and Readiness Cost:
Monday = 14 weeks: $675
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday Classes = 16 weeks: $765
Saturday/Sunday Classes = 15 weeks: $720
Music Shakers is offered in shorter sessions at a lower rate ($20/class) to accommodate larger class sizes and drop-ins (drop-in price is $25). RSP Class sizes are typically 4-5 students to one teacher, or 6 students with two teachers.
There may be a little flexibility in terms of the morning/early afternoon class times. Class times at 3pm or later are not able to be adjusted due to space constraints. Note some classes already have an age listed. If an age is not listed, it means that class age/level has not yet been determined.
