We offer private drum set lessons as well as semi-private lessons for two friends, or a parent and child! Lessons are open to all levels and ages. Instruction is tailored to the student’s interest and we offer a variety of drumming techniques and styles including Jazz, Rock, Funk, Pop, Latin, Reggae, Country, Blues, Hip Hop. Specific literature is selected based on a student’s ability and interest.
At this time, we are offering lessons on Sundays and Thursdays at our uptown location, 45 Tiemann Place.
Drum Set Lessons
Drum set lessons are about connecting the individual to the pulse- internal and external. As a percussionist the drumstick, mallet, or shaker represents an extension of our finger, which extends from our arm that connects back to our heart: the primordial pulse!
With that being said, the student is introduced to rhythm through the body, and in the beginning is not required to possess a drum set.
