In-school music experiences are designed to bring our robust music curriculum to children during the school day, whether with a regular weekly music class for a full class of children or as an optional experience woven into the flow of the school day for a smaller group of children.
Visits from a Silver Music teacher take place once or multiple times per week for the full school year or for a defined period of time as a musical “residency” (for example, a 3 to 4-week series of visits). Programming and scheduling are tailored to the needs of the school community and teaching approach.
Educational Approach
In-school Ready, Set, Play! classes are informed by early childhood pedagogy and influenced by Suzuki philosophy and Dalcroze Eurhythmics, emphasizing listening, movement, repetition, and embodied learning.
Through consistent musical experiences, children develop:
- Strong listening and attention skills
- Coordination and rhythmic awareness
- Comfort participating individually and in groups
- A positive, lasting relationship with music
How Our In-School Program Integration Works
Silver Music faculty can offer Ready, Set, Play! within the school day:
- During designated activity periods or transitions
- As a scheduled music class for an entire class or age group
- As a flexible option within the school’s existing daily structure
In settings where participation is optional, children naturally gravitate toward music based on interest, allowing engagement to grow from curiosity rather than expectation. This choice-based approach supports autonomy, focus, and genuine enjoyment.
