Move and sing to live violin and cello, hear some of your favorite RSP jams, and listen to the ways sounds fit together to create music!

We’re excited to offer opportunities this month for our instrumental students to see a college student perform. On Sunday, January 8th and Friday, January 13, violinist, Emma Frucht will be performing at Silver Music as part of our Backstage Recital Series. Emma is a senior at Harvard University and the daughter of our violin teacher, Rachel Riggs. Each program will be about 45 minutes in length.

Please RSVP by emailing silvermusic@silvermusic.org if you are interested in attending either event as space is limited. (Please include the number of children and adults attending).

This event will be free of charge.

ChamberFest showcases Juilliard students who work during their final week of winter break in a unique chamber music intensive. FREE.

New York Philharmonic Orchestra

Come hear one of the greatest symphonies perform Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto and Brahms’s Third Symphony. Tickets start at $34.

See our string faculty take the stage alongside visiting cellist, Nancy Hair. $15 in advance/$20 at the door. This concert will feature music from the Classical and Early Romantic period. (Two complimentary tickets are included for students participating in our Winter Workshop.)

Morse Recital Hall
A variety of Pre-College student recitals will take place at Morse Recital Hall on this day. Come be inspired by these talented young players and composers! FREE.

Carnegie Kids Concert
Sunday, January 22, 12pm and 2pm
Resnick Education Wing
This concert, “OTOYOTOY!” is a piece of immersive music theater for children under three and their families that combines humor, storytelling, and vocal improvisation. FREE Admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 50 children and their parents or guardians. Ideal for babies and toddlers under 3 years old.

The Art of Music

The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Highlighting the connections between the musical traditions of different peoples, places, and time periods, this tour gives visitors an appreciation of the Museum’s global holdings of instruments selected for social significance, technical virtuosity, tonal quality, and visual beauty.

Bach At One
Wednesdays, 1pm
Trinity Church
The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and the Trinity Baroque Orchestra perform Bach cantatas weekly with period instruments and baroque-style vocal technique. FREE.

Philharmonic Families
Sundays at 12:30pm and 3pm; Mondays at 10:30am
Merkin Concert Hall
This coming season ensembles of strings, brass, and woodwinds are presented playing music ideal for the youngest listeners. Each concert will explore basic musical ideas through movement, singing, and humor. Subscription prices range from $72 to $87.
