String Jam Camp and is open to string-players ages 7 and up who are interested in improvisation, jamming in different styles, recording music, and learning how to read written out arrangements of contemporary and popular music. The camp is led by our cello teacher, Reenat Pinchas, who writes incredible arrangements for kids, making alternative styles of music both accessible and educational for string students. Depending on enrollment, additional teachers and teacher assistants will be overseeing the camp so that the ratio of teacher to student remains small.
During the school year, String Jam Camp will be held in 6 week sessions on Sundays from 2:00-3:30 at 45 Tiemann Place. The final week will include a Showcase performance for friends and family!
During the summer, these camps will be full day camps—from 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday at 45 Tiemann Place. The day will include some outdoor time (weather permitting), lunch hour, and each week a visit from a guest artist. Friday of each week will include a final performance.
